How Can I Express Gratitude?

I hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving. We all know that we ought to be a thankful people, that’s a given. But how should we show our gratitude to God. As I was sitting here thinking about how grateful I am to God for His faithfulness over the last year I asked myself, “How can I express my gratitude to God?”  These things came to mind, I hope you will consider the following and choose to live everyday with gratefulness.

HOW SHOULD I THANK GOD?

  1. With singing and instruments – Psalm 51:15, “Unseal my lips, O Lord, that my mouth may praise you.” Psalm 33:1-3, “Let the godly sing for joy to the Lord; it is fitting for the pure to praise him. Praise the Lord with melodies on the lyre; make music for him on the ten-stringed harp. Sing a new song of praise to him; play skillfully on the harp, and sing with joy.”
  2. With all my heart – Psalm 86:12, “With all my heart I will praise you, O Lord my God. I will give glory to your name forever.”
  3. By standing in awe of Him – Psalm 33:6-9, “The Lord merely spoke, and the heavens were created. He breathed the word, and all the stars were born. He assigned the sea its boundaries and locked the oceans in vast reservoirs. Let the whole world fear the Lord, and let everyone stand in awe of him. For when he spoke, the world began! It appeared at his command.”
  4. Lifting my hands in prayer, meditating on Him – Psalm 63:4, “I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.” Psalm 63:6, “I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night.”
  5. Praising Him with dancingPsalm 30:11-12, “You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to you and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give you thanks forever!”; Psalm 149:3, “Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp.”

Does your life truly express thankfulness to God?  Or does your life reflect a life of ingratitude?

True intimacy with God will always be accompanied by gratitude and praise!
