Life Isn’t Fair – Praise You in the Storm
Read Job 1:1-22
Some days just don’t go our way…
- One thing after another
- Bad news… bad day…
Answer this question: What isn’t fair?
- Christ crucified… (Bottom line – Christ demonstrated genuine love… genuine love isn’t fair…)
What do you think of that statement? That Genuine Love isn’t fair… (what is genuine love?)
- Total sacrifice
- Unconditional
- Complete and unlimited forgiveness
This is hard to accept… to acknowledge and to be willing to live as followers of Christ: God expects us to live a life that’s not fair. To love when betrayed. To lay down our rights and even be wronged for His name’s sake. To forgive 70×7. On. A. Daily. Basis. Because, this life is about Him and not about us.
- Romans 12:21, “Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.”
- John 13:33, “I have overcome the world.”
- John 15:18, “If the world hates you, remember it hated me first!”
- Luke 23:34, “Father forgive them.”
What should you do when life isn’t fair?
- Praise God in the midst of the storm (Job 1:20-22)
- Be content to stay in the storm (1 Corinthians 7:17-24)
- Have the proper perspective of the storm. (God doesn’t make mistakes – Job 38-42)
- Put Love into action… (Matthew 5:43-44; Luke 6:27-28; Romans 12:14,21)
- Love your enemies
- Pray for those who hurt you
- Bless those who curse you
- Forgive those
